Melbottene.—The Argus of September 21 reports: — Flour has not been much run after; indeed, the parcels offered by public sale had to be withdrawn for want of buyers. Trade parcels continue to be disposed of for the supply of requirements at from £l2 15s to .£l3. The larger dealers are prevented from purchasing, owing to the scarcity of really good brands, for which £l2 10s to £l2 12s 6d would be paid. Wheat is stiffening. We quote to-day 5s 6d to 5s 9d, and sales of even very ordinary qualities are reported at 5s Bd. Oats are disposed of in fair, lines at 3s 4Jd to 3s 5d for good feeding qualities, but up to 3s 7d is obtained for prime parcels; in many instances more money being wanted.
