COMMERCIAL.
The following hopeful paragraph occurs in Messrs Buxton and Hunter's London wool report for July :—" Whether we are to have war or peace, is the question of the hour. The effect of war is always disastrous to trade, but we doubt if it would exercise more than a very temporary influence on the wool market, unless hostilities were to be prolonged indefinitely, which is hardly to be expected now-a-days."
