ADDISON'S ROAD.

(To the Editor of the Westport Times.) Sir, —You know that every Brittishor has ono inborn right of which he cannot be deprived. He may lose his political rights. Ho may lose his citizen rights, in fact he may be deprived of almost every other, hut his right to grumble is his own, and, as a rule, ho is not slow to exercise it. Tour readers will say what great grumble is coming now that requires so much preface. Wall, there is no grumble at all coming but rather the reverse. The fact is, sir, that lately, the Government have l.ud out a considerable amount of money on tho Ad-

dison'a road (and they have, without doubt, laid it out well and wisely). There can be no fault found with the work done; the new culverts and bridges appear to be good, efficient and sufficient, and no more. But with all thia there area fewsmallculvertsin such a state as to render travelling dangerous both to man and horse. These bad places go very far to nullify all the good that has been done.

I told you 1 was not going to grumble, but am going simply to point out that it would be wise for Mr Dobson, before deciding that the road is complete, to take a ride along it and be will find that what I say is true ; the places I speak of, more especially, are between .Stewart's and Addison's If you insert this note you will receive mine as well as tne thanks of all the packers on the road. L. Addi3on'a Flat, Sept. 1.
