The schooner 10, Captain Wade, from Melbourne, was towed in yesterday morning by the steamship Kennedy. The master reports having left Port Phillip Heads on the Bth inst., with a light westerly wind and line weather; passing the Sisters on the evening of the 10th, and from thence to t as port experenced very unsettled weather, the barometer reading fro 11 29.10 to 29.50 all tiie way a.i i - ost;. The Io on her passage encountered two severe north-easterly gales, with a tremendous sea running, during the greater portion of which the lee-side of the vessel was submerged. Arm e 1 within forty miles of the port on the ISth, but in consequence of a 1 e ii y gale from the north-cast and northward, whicn lasted until the evening of the 19th, she did not sight the Steeples until the morcing of the 20fch, reporting at the flagstaff the same day. On the morning of the 24th she was taken in tow by the s.s. Murray, but the tide was too advanced to cross the bar, since which the vessel lias been detained outside n the absence of a steamer and the bar being unsafe until towed in by the Kennedy. She brings a lull general cargo, and is consigned to Messrs Bailie and Humphrey. The s.s. Kennedy left Nelson on Saturday, arriving in the roadstead at 4 p.m. on Sunday, and crossed the bar at 9.30 p.m. The following day she towed in the schooner Io from Melbourne in the morning, and the schooner Crest of the Wave from Hunedin in the evening. She left for Greymouth last night. The schooner Crest of the Wave, from Dunedin, arrived off the Buller yesterday early, and was towed in the same night. She is consigned to Mr John Corr. The s.s. St Kilda arrived off the Buller yesterday at 5 p.m., having left Wanganui on the 28th. She crossed the bar at 11 p.m.. landed 100 sheep, and proceeded with the balance of her live freight to Greymouth the same tide. The s.s. Murray will be detained in Nelson until Wednesday next, having received some damage to her stern-post which will necessitate repairs. She made an extraordinarily swift passage from Westport to Nelson, having completed the run, according to the telegram, in fifteen hours. The ketch Woodguest sailed for Charleston on Sunday morning, and will, we believe, proceed from thence to Greymouth, uuder charter for Mr Kelly, of Charleston. The Grey bar is reported to be again workable. According to latest accounts tiiere are ten feet of water on the bar at high tide.
