AMBIGUITY.
(To the Editor of the Westport Times.) Sir, —Would you please explain to me what the following notice from the Warden means, as was inserted in your paper of the 30th ult. :—" The protection to..quartz claims at Irishman's Creek, Lyell, will be continued until 31st August, upon the same terms as notified by advertisement on the 28th April last." Not having been in the district in April last, I do not understand it, unless you oblige me ■with a paper of 28th April to explain the former notice.—Tours truly, Bewildeeed. Lyell, August 4. [By bearer of your note, we forvtard a paper of April 28th, which will render the matter intelligible.—Ed. W. T.]
