NELSON PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
CABAL AGAINST EXECUTIVE. {BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.) (PROM OUR OffS CORRESPONDENT.) Nelson, Wednesday. The new Executive brought down the Estimates last night slightly ami-nded. It is proposed, according to the strong recommendation of the Auditor, to abolish the office of Sub-Treasurer on the Coast, and that the responsible Treasurer in Nelson shall manage all, placing sums to the credit of each Warden's office every month. It is Keid's proposal that tbe G-old-fielas' Representative should simply fulfil the words of the Act, " To represent in the Executive the interests of the Groldfields," and not to represent the Executive on the Groldfields, in fact that he should be non-official, but possessing a voice in the Executive. Salary simply to cover the expenses of attendance.
A strong caucus formed against the new Executive, and a turn out probable. Extraordinary scene in Couucil between Donne and O'Conor, the latter transgressing.
