On Friday the Superintendent sent for Mr Luckie, as mover of the third reading of the Amended Executive Ordinance. Mr Luckie declined office, but recommended Messrs Shephard and Eeid, the former as Treasurer, the latter as Eepresentative of Goldfields' interests. Both have been since gazetted. Mr Sharp continues the office of Treasurer till the end of the current quarter. Gbetmoitth, Saturday. Mr Franklyn has retired from the contest for the vacant seat for Grey. Mr Wilkie walks over.
