WESTPORT WARDEN'S COURT.
Wednesday, Mat 25. (Before J. Giles, Esq., "Warden.) APPLICATIONS. Peter Sorenson and others—Frontage tunnelling claim 17 feet, situated at Middle Terrace, Caledonian, length of tunnel, 1000 feet; granted. Francis Magner and others—Abandoned head-race, commencing north side of the Totara river, near the Shannon river, and terminating at applicants' claim, Addison's Flat, length of race four miles; granted. Anderson and another—Dam, to he constructed at Cement Lead, Waite's Pakihi, area, one and a half acres; granted. George Dunn—Tail race from a dam at Orawaiti, Griles Terrace, to a blind creek, length 200 feet. The application was objected to by J. L. Pickering, and its consideration postponed by the Warden in order to visit the ground. Joseph Mullett and others.—Abandoned tail-race situate at applicants' claim, Old Diggings, Buller river, length 150 yards. Granted. The same party applied also to take up and reconstruct an abandoned headrace, commencing at a creek half a mile below Grainger's Point, Buller river, and to extend the same one mile to their claim at Old Diggings ; length of race two miles. Objection was lodged by Thomas Brown, stating that the race had not been abandoned, and asking the Warden to postpone the consideration of the application. Objector had been unable to reach Westport in consequence of the flooded state of the rivers. The Warden postponed the application for the appearance of all parties interested.
