Per John Penn, from Hokitika and Greymouth—2 cases stationery, 4do acid, Bank of New Zealand. EXPORTS. Per John Penn, for Wanganui—lo pks, Ueauchamp. The s.s. John Penn, Captain Carey, left Hokitika on Monday, the 9th inst., at three o'clock, arrived in Greymouth the same tide. Shipped :105 tons of coals, and sailed for northern ports on Tuesday at five o'clock, arriving in this port early the following morning. She left yesterday afternoon for Wanganui and Onehunga. The p.s. Lioness left Hokitika on Tuesday for Westport, and arrivedoff the port yester'dayat 1 a.m., towed in the schooner Northern Light, and left the same morning for Hokitika. The schooner Northern Light left Melbourne on the evening of the 9th ult., cleared Port Philip Heads, on the 11th, and experienced light easterly winds until reaching 1 eodoglongitude, and strong south-easterly and south-westerly gales until reaching the New .'Zealand coast. First sighted land on the .27tii ulc, at a point known as the Five Fingers. Got off the port on the 9th inst., and was towed in by the steam-tug Lioness at 5 a.m. yesterday. The Melbourne papers report the loss of the schooner Josephine inside the Port Phillip Heads, during a gale on the 23rd ult. The vessel foundered about five miles foe-low the Gellibrand's Point lightship. There were only two men and a boy on board, who bad just time, and no more, to get off in their boat, before the schooner filled and sank.
