The steamer Kennedy left Nelson at 8.15 p.m., on Wednesday, arrived off Westport at 4 p.m. on Thursday, after a smart run of less than 20 hours, and steamed alongside the wharf at 7 p.m. Discharged cargo and transhipped cargo ex Beautiful Star for Hokitika. She left for the latter port yesterday evening. The s.s. Beautiful Star arrived at Nelson from southern ports on the 22nd. She left Nelson for Westport on the 24th, and arrived within a short distance of the port on Monday when she had to put back to Nelson in conKerpipnoo of bad weather, left Nelson on Wednesday, and arrived at Westport on Thursday evening. She leaves for Wellington, Wanganui, and southern porta this evening, calling at Greymouth.
