EXPORTS. Per Murray, for Hokitika—lOSSozs 4dwts and 18grs gold, Bank of New Zealand.

The steamer Murray, which steamed into port early on Tuesday morning, during a thick haze and against a heavy fresh, got safely alongside the Gladstone street wharf, where she discharged a general cargo and BUUUS i-», V„,««»« Sh„ soil"- 1 ; " «*»v for Hokitika direct, intending to call at Greymouth on the return trip. She towed out the schooner Mary Van Every. The s.s. John Penn, M. Carey, commander, cleared the Manukau Heads on Saturday, the 4th instant, at 7 o'clock p.m. ; arrived oil' Wanganui bar the following day at 7.30 p.m.; and alongside the wharf at 9 p.m.; shipped a full cargo of stock and sailed again on Monday at 10.30 o'clock p.m., arriving off Westport at 5.30 yesterday morning, and crossed the bar at 11 o'clock am. The steamer Wallabi also brought cargo of stock yesterday from Wanganui, and towed in the Satellite, similarly consigned, with coal from Greymouth. The steamer Charles Edward, we learn, has sailed from Nelson for Wanganui, to load there a cargo of cattle for Onehunga. The New Zealand Steam Navigation Company is at last wound up voluntarily. The small steamer Alpha has been purchased by Mr It. Laery, of Picton, and is intended to ply between that place and the Grove. It is stated that the Mataura and others of the late unfortunate Panama Company's vessels, have been sold to the Turkish Government, it is supposed for the purpose of establishing an overland route from Trebizond to Bussora, by way of the Persian Gulf, the latter route being shorter and more direct than that by the Red Sea, although the land journey and sea voyage on the other side are a little longar. The time-table of the proposed new route from Sydney to Liverpool, according to Mr Hall's scheme, is said to be as follows : Sydney to Bay of Islands, 5£ days; Bay of Islands to Honolulu, 8J days; Honolulu to iSan Francisco, 14 days ; San Francisco to New York (by rail), 6 days ; New York to Liverpool, 10 days ; total (including stoppage), 44 days. Sydney papers mention the Pacific Mail Company as the one likely to engage in the new line.
