Packers' and Miners' Ptjhse of 10 sovs, added to a sweepstake of 2 sovs each, second horse to save his stake, for all horses regularly employed in packing, or regularly worked in claims or drays on the Nelson South"West Goldfields for three months previous to the races. Second horse to save his stakes. One event, over five hurdles. Entry 3 sovs. FOURTH RACE. Consolation Stakes of 15 sovs. £lO first horse, £5 second, for all horses beaten at the meeting. 1£ miles. Post entry of 1 sov. EuLES AND EEGULATIONS. No entries will be received for any of the races except on the following conditions : —That all disputes, claims, and objections rising out of the racing shall bo decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall bo final. The rules of the W. J. 0. strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of £1 to the race fund, or be a member of the club. The foregoing rule will not affect persons who have horses entered for the Packers' and Miners' Purse, Butchers' Purse, or Ccnsolation Stakes. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary. Entrance money to be enclosed with the name and age of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. No jockey allowed to ride except in the colors entered, under a penalty of £1 la. There must bo three entries, or no All entries to be sent in addressed to the Secretary, Post Office Hotel, Westport, on the 23rd December, at 9 p.m. All prizes paid at the Post Office Hotel, on Thursday, 30th December, at 9 p.m. E.
