Per John Penn, for Nelson and Onehunga Mr Broad, Mr and Mrs Bain, Mr Isaacs, Dr Henry, Miss Sanderson, Miss Nelson, Messrs O'Farrel, Jones, Pitt, Sale, Dick, Beaton, Humphrey, Mi.nro, Lambert, Simpson, Mr and Mrs Goodall, Miss Attrill, and 26 original; 15 steerage. IMPORTS. Per Kennedy, from Greymouth—l case drugs, Williams ; 3 bags coke, Union Bank. The steamer Kennedy started about an hour before the John Penn on Saturday afternoon, and with a small number of passengers, Nelson being her only destination. The John Penn left with crowded decks, having a number of passengers from the south fjr Auckland, and having waited here for the prisoners, witnesses, and officials connected with the recent fatal affray at Charleston. Several other townspeople went by her, to effect purchases for the Christmas trade. The Murray and Kennedy may be expected to return from Nelson within the next fortyeight hours. The Charles Edward is not yet telegraphed as having returned either to Wanganui or Nelson from Onehunga. The schooner Mary Van Every is expected shortly to arrive here, with a general cargo from Dunedin. The brigantine Mary is the vessel next expected to arrive here from Melbourne. Her date of departure is not yet known. Captain John Cairns, late of the schooner Rambler, which was wrecked at Okarito, has been appointed to the command of the schooner Mary, one of Messrs Spence Brothers and Company's West Coast traders. The Bchooner Queen of the Isles, which at one time was a regular trader to this Coast, has been sold at Dunedin, by order of the mortgagees, to Captain Duncan, Port Chalmers, for £1285. The lighthouse at the Nuggets is approaching completion. The stone buildings are of a very solid and substantial character, as they require to bo, on account of their peculiarly exposed position. Fourteen Chinese passengers on board the ship Constance, from Hong Kong to Sydney, died on the passage through accidentally drinking poisoned water. The raft constructed by Mr E. F. Liardet for breaking heavy seas, is proving useful at the Nobby's, Newcastle, where a tremendous sea runs in heavy weather. The Rangitira sailed from Melbourne for Auckland on the 15th, having Mr Montgomery, the tragedian, on board. A tender of £3600 has been accepted for tied iu Corio Bay.
