The iron clipper barque Helen arrived in Nelson on Monday last, from the Mauritius after a quick run of forty days. She brings a full cargo of sugar, consigned to Messrs N. Edwards and Co. The clipper shin Somersetshire, punctual to announcement, left the railway pier, Sandridge, on the sth ult., for London. This magnificent vessel cleared out at the Customs with a large aud valuable cargo and a number of chief cabin and 'tween deck passengers. Of the last breakdown of the Alhambra the Argus of the Ilth says :—The p.s. Murray arrived early on Saturday morning from Port Albert. Captain Patrick reports leaving there at half-past 5 p.m., passing Wilson's Promontory at half-past 9 p.m.; at 10 p.m., spoke the s.s. Alhambra under canvas, the engines having broken down, but owing to a heavy gale blowing the Murray was unable to render any service.
