TRIALS OF THE MAORI PRISONERS.

(EKOM OTJK OWN COBItESPONDENT.) Wellington, Monday. The Maori prisoners are now being sentenced. Forty-one have already been disposed of. As yet all have been sentenced to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. With the exception of one, all will be reprieved. Tauroa, the chief, made a long speech of four hours, defending himself, and showing that he was forced into complicity with Tito Kowaru. The Judge held out hopes of pardon to him after a time of penal servitude.
