MINING INCIDENTS.
QUAIiTZ BEEFS IX WELLINGTON PROVINCE. From information received by the Wellington Independent, there appers every reason to believe in the existence of a payable goldfield immediately within the Northern Boundary of the Province of Wellington. Quartz highly auriferous has been brought into Napier, which was taken from a quartz reef exposed at the extremity of the Kaimauawa range. This Kaimanawa range breaks off from the main range of the Ruahine about the centre of the province, and running in a north-easterly direction impingeß upon the Southern boundary of the province of Hawke's Bay, which, however, it does? not quite reach. The goldfield, therefore, winch is supposed to exist, will belong to the province of Wellington, although for a time the Napier country will derive the chief benefit from the supply of an incoming mining population.
