Bumor says that Mr Curtis is not to be allowed to " walk the course " at the October election for Superintendent of Nelson. There was some mention of Mr Edwards being brought forward by some of the Nelson electors, but rumor again says that that gentleman has been " scratched," and is not likely to enter the field. The name of Mr Barnicoat has also been mooted as a candidate, but no notification of Buch being the case has yet been made public. We are now given to understand that an already nmerously signed requisition is in course of completion on the West Coast and in the country districts of Nelson to Mr W. N. Pranklyn, a gentleman, who, we feel assured, has the. entire confidence and good wishes of more than a majority of tho West Coast electors, and who is favorably known in other parts of the Province. Beasons for the selection of a gentleman acquainted with the interests and necessities of the AVest Coast, and of a gentleman who will appreciate these interests and necessities more than has been done by the present Superintendent, must naturally suggest themselves to every elector in this part of tho Province; and we have no doubt, from all that we can learn, that in other parts of the Province there are as substantial reasons why a successor to Mr Curtis cessor should, in the absence of some very exceptionally eligible candidate, be such a man as Mr Pranklyn.
