COMMERCIAL.
Nelson.—The Colonist of the 2nd instant reports:—There is nothing fresh to notice iu the state of trade, which is still very inactive, with money scarce, and without prospects of immediate improvement. Hour, in consequence of large importations, has fallen £2 during the month, and stands at £l4 per ton of 20001bs. While the present stagnation exists, it is not unsatisfactory to notice that the main articles of consumption, flour, meat, and potatoes, are at a very moderate figure. Flour we have air. ady noticed, and good mutton can bo bought at 3d per lb, and even lower ; while potatoes are only 55s per ton. Sugars have fallen about £\' per ton, for superior kinds, and candles have been slightly reduced in the wholesale price.
