By the arrival of the s.s. Omeo at the Bluff, we (JFI O Times) have the following later items of intercolonial news up to the 13th instant:— Melbourne, July 13. Flour is from £l3 104 to £l4l Wheat scarce, at Gs 2d j oats, 4s 3d ; maize, 4s 4d; Cozens' kerosene, 2s, free or on board. The sports at the cricket ground were a great success, and Mr Bignell won the Melbourne Cricket Club Cup. The velocipede race was won by Mr Tindlay, of Melbourne, on his new machine, the Barb. The Crox'tori Park games were largely attended. Robson, of Ballarat, won the bycicle velocipede race. Richard Thomas Bellamy has been arrested on a charge of perjury. Jerry Jones, an old colonist, well known in New Zealand, has been killed by a kick from a horse at Mr M'Caw's sale yards, [lt is feared that the unfortunate gentleman referred to is the member of the firm of Jones, xM'Glashan, and Co., of Hokitika.] General Latham, the United States' Consul, has been recalled, and Mr David J. Pinell has been appointed his successor. Mr. Michie gave a lecture last night on <: Loyalty and Royalty, the Prince's visits," and it proved, as might be expected, a great success. The Corporation have drafted a bye-law, regulating the use of velocipedes within the city boundaries. Several serious accidents have recently occurred with the machines in the streets. An epidemic has broken out amongst the horses in the St. Arnaud district. The discovery of diamonds at Mudgee still continues, and shares are greatly in demand. Patrick Kelly, ploughman at Deloraine (Tasmania), cut his wife's throat through motives of jealousy. Pearls have been found in Western Australia in abundance. Tho Gothenburg arrived on Monday. The Railway Committee published their report, and recommend the construction of lines at the rate of not more than six thousand pounds per mile.
Sydney, July 13. Haig's wool store at Waterloo has been burned, and the estimated loss is £2OOO. The Government have cancelled Ross Lewin's license to charter vessels for the Polynesian labor trade. A man named Grant has been committed for ahooting Gardiner, at the Varieties. The barque Freetrader, from California, with breadstuffs, has been placed in quarantine. !She brings 150 tons of wheat, 330 tons flour. £SOO have been subscribed in Sydney for the liberated Fenians iu Western Australia. Mr Bambury, solicitor, has died suddenly. Adelaide, July 13. The corn market is protracted, owing to large arrivals from California. Very rich cement has been found at the Barossa diggings. A recent crushing yielded 4ozs to tho ton. The mining news generally in this colony is favourable. Captain Hutchesoo, of tho ship Beatrice, has died, aud was buried with military houors.
