COMMERCIAL.
Wesitort Times Office, Friday Eveiling. Wo have little animation in to report during the week. Retailers more particularly complain of dull times. Nevertheless, a steady business is being done with the various diggings, and we note that a considerable quantity of goods lias been shipped coastwise. The arrival of the Mary from Melbourne has replenished our stocks of general goods, several lines of which were getting short. Flour —The stock of Adelaide is now very light, and will be used up before another supply can come to hand ; selling iu trade parcels at £l9. Provincial we quote at £ls 10s to £l6. Stocks of potatoes are getting rather short, the few steamers trading on the coast not being sufficient to keep up the supply ; ruling prices £3 10s to £6. Oats are firm at 4s 6d. In oilmen's stores there is little alteration to note. Candles are a little easier. We quote Neva Company's at Is li d; Brandon's, Is Id. Kerosene is now more plentiful, but stocks are not heavy; firm at 4s. Sugars, which have been difficult to place lately, are now moving cff at advanced rates. In spirits we observe a considerable quantity has b eu cleared for home consumption during the week, but prices remain unaltered.
