After nearly a blank week in the shipping trade, three steamers arrived on Saturday, and a fourth yesterday ; and there has been an equal number of do; arturcs. The Murray was the first to make her appearance. She did so on Saturday, at 2 a.m., after one of the roughest and most protracted passages she has ha J for a long lime. Several limes she tried to get round Cape Farewell, but found the attempts vain against violent S.W. gales, and fipal : y had to leave even the shelter of the Cape, the seasetting in from N.W. After sheltering in Mutton Bay and Totaranui, she made a fresh start on Friday, and reached port as stated. The Lyttelton was the next to arrive from the North, and she had for nearly three days been also struggling with her own deficiencies and a heavy sea. The Wallabi was the next, arriving yesterday morning from Wanganui, whence she sailed on Saturday evening. From the South, the Kennedy came on Saturday, bringing the Brace's passengers and mail'!, and on the same evening she sailed for Nelson.

The tug-steamer Lioness arrived in the roadstead yesterday afternoon, but:, in consequence of signals from the shore, did not tow the brigantine Mavy into port. She has probably clone so by this time.
