STRANDING OF THE BRUCE AT GREYMOUTH.

The steamer Bruce got ashore this morning, half a mile to the northward of ihe flagstaff, when trying to cross the bar at daylight. The sea was found too heavy, and she attempted to return, hut failed. The cabin hatchway was smashed, aud the cabin filled with water. She will be launched seaward. She is not much injured. "Wellington, Friday. Mr Dillon Bell has accepted office in the new Ministry, without a portfolio. The Evening Post has received notice of an action for damages from Mr Henry Driver, one of the Otago members, for publishing a telegram stating that he (Mr Driver) had been guilty of political jobbery.
