The song of " The Forlorn Digger," by a Charleston contributor, and the poetical description of '• The Perpendicular Lead, Hatter's Terrace," though meritorious enough, scarcely realise a standard of excellence justifying their publication in the columns' of a newspaper. The letter of " Excelsior " on the Licensing {system, was too late for this issue.
