The schooner Escelsior, commanded by Captain Bell, arrived in Westport yesterday, after being detained in the roadstead for a number of days, waiting a favorable wind. She left Dunedin on the 30th ulfc., with a light S.W. breeze, and on the Ist instant passed Banks Peninsula. On the sth slip passed Cape Campbell with a light S.E. breeze, and was off ('ape Farewell on the 7th. Thence she had light variable winds until she reached the roadstead o:; Thursday, the 10th inst. The schooner Joseph Paul has made a very rapid passage to and from Dunedin. She left Dunedin on the 6th inst., and on Sunday, the 13th, arrived off Westport, crossing the bar yesterday afternoon. The cutter Pearl brings a cargo of produce from Olaki, a small port midway between Wellington and Wanganui. She has been for nearly a week in the neighborhood of Westport, buffetted about by stormy weather.
