COMMERCIAL.
During the week business has been very dull, and few transactions of any note have come under our notice. The arrival of the Prosperity from Melbourne, with a general cargo, has iu no way affected the market. In breadstuffs we have no alteration to note. Holders of Adelaide flour refuse to sell under £lB 10s. The demand for oats is steady. A parcel ex Wanganui brought 4s 3d at auction. Kerosene—this article is still scarce, the snpply to hand per Prosperity not being equal to the demand. The price is now firm at 4s fill. Candles are moving off at last quotations. Sugars are still enquired for at advanced rates. Tickles have become scarce. We quote 15s to 15s 6d. In teas little busi. ness is doing, the supply being far in excess of the demand, and pr'ces have declined, for fair medium congous we quote 2s 3d, extra fine 2s 6d, duty paid.
