I.—Town Lettes. Posted at any Post-office within the colony from delivery at or from such Post-office— Not exceeding half-an-ounce .., Onepenny Exceeding half-an-ounce bat not exceeding ohe ounce ... Twopence For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce Twopence, ll.—Codktby Letters. Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from any other Post-office within the same province— Not exceeding half-an-ounce ... Twopeuce, Exceeding half-an-ounee but not exceeding one ounce Fourpence. For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce ... Fourpence lII.—iNTEEPttOVINCIAL LETTERS. Posted at any Post-office within the colonv for delivery at or from any Post-office in ac » other province within the colony— Not exceeding half an ounce, Threepence. Exceeding half-an-ounce but not exceeding one ounce Sixpence, For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce 'Sixpence NEWSPAPERS. For places within the colony, the Australian Colonies, and the United Kingdom, via Suej and Southampton, are chargeable with a rata of one penny. Newspapers for the United Kingdom, vis Panama or Suez, one penny; and Marseilles threepence each. "' In cousequence of newspapers being fre. quently posted in packages of more than one number, tbe same are detained at the Chief Post-office, end attention is called tothefol. lowing postal regulation:— " Newspapers for transmission within the colony shall be posted in single numbers, so put up that tbe date of publication may be readily seen. Packages of newspapers consist, ing of more than one number shall be treated as bookpackages.
