THE LANDING OF PRINCE ALFERD AT WELLINGTON.
PUBLIC EECEPTION AND EEJOICINGS. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPR) (fKOJI OUR O"WK COKEESrONDETfT.) AVellixgton, Tuesday. The public landing of His Eoyal Highness Prince Alfred took place at eleven o'clock yesterday forenoon. The wharf was lined by a guard of honor, and a salute was fired by the artillery on the moment of the Prince landing. There was but one address presented, and that was presented by His Honor the Superintendent. The Prince having graciously replied, a procession was formed, and His Eoyal Highness was accompanied to Government House. There the National Anthem was sung by fifteen hundred children. A levee was held at one o'clock, when a large number of citizens and visitors were presented. In the evening there was a display of fireworks, and illuminations were general throughout the city. To-day there have been no public proceedings.
