By his Honor Oswald Ctjetis, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c, &c. WHEREAS, by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson, in Session X, No. 5, intituled, " <ln Act to provide for the abatement of the Dog Nuisance," it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation within certain Districts, and in such other Districts as shall be proclaimed by the Superintendent in the Government Gazette for the Province, upon the request of a majority of the residents electors in uch Districts : Now, therefore, I, the said Superineudent, at the request of a majoritv if the resident Electors of the Town of West port, do hereby proclaim and ieclare that the said Act shall come nto operation, within a radius of two niles from the Court-House, in the aid Town of Westport, on and after :he First day of July next. Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Nelson, this Fifth day of April, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine. OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent. DESCRIPTION OF WHARF: Length, 50ft.; breadth, 35ft.; to be built on 12 piles driven 30ft. into the bottom of the river ; piles to be diagonally braced; beams to be in one length, 51ft., 12 x 12; caps, 35ft., 12 x 11; planks, 3x6. The Wharf to be built one foot above the level of Gladstone Street.
