Good Friday.—lt is the opinion of some persons that, strictly speaking, we have been observing Good Friday this _ year on the wrong day. The opinion is by no means that of a few, but, on the contrary, of many persons. A correspondent has addressed the Dunedin Star on the subject, and to all appearances his view on the matter is correct.. He says, "It is well known that Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday. The rule given at the beginning of the Prayerbook, which is in accordance with the rule laid down by the Groat Ecumerieal Council of "Nice (x.d. 325) to find Easter Sunday is, that the Easter Day is always the first Sunday after the full moon, which happens upon or next after the 21st day of March : and if the full moon happens upon a Sunday, Easter Day is the Sunday after. In England the full moon happened on Saturday, 27th March, at 9. 33 p.m. It was not full moon in New Zealand until Sunday, the 2Sth March, at 8. 50 a m., consequently G-ood Friday in England was on the 2Gth March, and in New Zealand it should be held on the 2nd day of April."
