For the third day's racing in Hokitika four events -were placed on the card. The Hurry Scurry, of 10 sovs., was taken by Gamester; with Native, second. The Hurdle Race was carried by Blink Bonny, Native and Selim following. The Volunteer Race was taken by Mr M'Farlane's Kate. Okair won the Novel Race, Selim and Cossack being distanced. Considerable dissatisfaction is expressed in Hokitika with regard to several of the events.
