Per Waipara, from Hokitika—Miss West, Messrs Dick, Hankins, Armstrong, Roger. Per Waterman, for Melbourne—Messr Lofty, Hicks, and Ranson. IMPOSTS. Per Waipara, from Hokitika—l case lirapery, Haller ; 2 cases merchandise, 1 do galvanized tiles, 1 portmanteau, 1 package, Clarke; 1 keg butter, Duff. EXPOBTS. Per Waterman, for Melbourne—l case tobacco, Powell and Co.; 26 empty qr-casks, Eailie and Humphrey; 180 tram-wheels, 1 case, Field ; 11 kegs butter, J. R. Eraser; 38 do. Duff. The s.s. Waipara arrived in port on Thursday evening, from southern ports. Yesterday tihe towed out the Waterman to a safe offing, and in good style. A few passengers accompanied her, and apparently enjoyed a pleasant trip, during which extraordinary quantities of tish were seen, and a few caught, between the yhore and the Steeples. In the evening she returned to southern ports. The steamers John Penn and Charles Edward are telegraphed as having left Nelson together at half-past ten yesterday forenoon. The John Penn is advertised to leave this port for Nelson, Wellington, Napier, and Auckland on Wednesday next. The Westland County Council have re3'.>lvid to make the steam contract to Okarita ft monthly instead of a two-monthly service, acd to call for tenders at once.
