WARDEN'S COURT.

Wednesday, Feb. 10. (Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.) THE AMALGAM BOBBEEY AT ADDISON'S. An information was laid Stephen M'lntyre, by John M'Geehin and others, to the effect that he had appropriated to his own use 274>ozs of amalgam, and refused to account for it to his co-partners. The defendant in this case had been tried in the District Court on the previous day, for larceny of the amalgam, but had been acquitted through a legal technicality. Mr Tyler and Mr Pitt appeared for the complainants ; Mr Home for the defendant. The evidence in the case was the same as that which was given in the District Court on the previous day, and which has already been reported when given in the Resident Magistrate's Court. The Warden gave judgment for the complainants, holding the defendant to be liable to each for a share of the amalgam, or its value at the rate of a guinea per ounce. The complainant, John M'Geehin, applied for a distress warrant, aud the defendant, having represented himself as without funds, was committed to prison for three months. The Warden was afterwards engaged for a number of huurs hearing applications for the registration of tunnels, water-races, &c.
