THE JURORS' ROLL.

(To the Editor of the Westport Times.) Sir, — Permit me, through the columns of your paper, to enquire of you how many names might constitute the roll of jurors for the Westport District Court, and how these names are disposed of at each quarterly sitting. My reason for asking this is, that I know parties in town whose names were put on the roll when it was compiled, and who have never yet been summoned to one of these sittings, and also some who havo been summoned only once; while I myself have had the ho nor of being summoned to every sitting since the establishment of said Court. I am a licensed victualler carrying on business by myself, and it is net always at every quarterly visit of my friend (the juror's summons)

that I can find a suitable and trustworthy person to take my place in the bar ; and to shut up my house during the quarterly sittings, would in itself be a breach of my license and do a vast amount of injury to my trade. I hope, Mr Editor, by answering the above, combined with a slight application of your valuable instrumentality, that the court officials, or those wielding the sceptre of power in such cases, will be a little more careful or rather ! lenient in tho issuing of such summouses to some parties in town time I after time in succession.
