Captain ChrUp reports having experienced nothing but westerly gales with heavy head seas throughout the passage, till rounding Cape Farewell on the morning of the first. She leaves for Dunedin via intermediate ports to-morrow.

The Wharles Edward left Greymouth yesterday for Wanganui, and passed this port without calling. It has already been reported that the ketch Constant had put into Nelson, where she had proceeded in consequence of heavy weather, and an accident to her rudder after leaving Charleston. She returned to Westport yesterday. At Tonga Island, before reaching Nelson, she spoke the Streamlet (reported lost) bound for Hokitika with a cargo of potatoes. The Streamlet had been lying there ten weeks, wind-bound, and her cargo was damaged. The ketch Jane Elkin, bound for Greymouth with a general cargo, was at Tonga Island for eight weeks. The Wild Wave, bound for Charleston with produce, poultry, and pigs, consigned to Messrs Kennedy Bros., had also been at Tonga Island about eight weeks, wind bound. The Constant bore away for Nelson on Monday night, and arrived there en Tuesday morning. She left Nelson on Saturday at one a.m., for Westport. Experienced light south-west weather until off the Spit, when it came on to blow hard from the north-east. Arrived oil the Buller at seven a.m. yesterday, thus making tlw run down in twenty-four hours. By the time she had arrived at the bar. there was a very heavy surf on, and she had some difficulty in clearing the South Spit, but, by active management, she was headed outwards, and rarno into port hi good style, followed by a number of other craft, whose arrivals wc record. The ketch Rambler left Nelson for Westport about the same time as the Constant, and was in sight yesterday evening. The schooner Enterprise was towed in by the steamer Wallabi on Saturday afternoon, and aovr lies in the lagoan at the south side of the river. The Enterprise left Greymouth on Thursday evening, with a general for Messrs Kennedy Bros., Charleston, and reached the offing on Friday, and though the weather was then favorable, and the signal hoisted at Charleston to enter, she remained outside, hoping for an equally favorable opportunity on the following morning. Tiie next thing heard of her by the consignees was that she had sprung a leak and had leached the offing at the Buller, where she .had to be towed in. Portion of the cargo is very much damaged. The schooner Isabella has been got off the beach at the Three Mile, Hokitika. It is probable that the whole of H.M. ships upon the Australian station will rendezvous in Wellington harbour in the course of next month. The Commodore, Rowley Lambert, C.8., may be expected in H.M.S.S. Challenger at the latter end of this week.
