Conditions—Eaces only open to horses the bona fide property of residents on the Nelson South West Goldfields, and stabled and ' owned there by thein at this date. There must be three entries, or no race. The decision of the Stewards in all cases to be final. All Entries, except those marked " Post Entry," to be sent in to the Secretary on or before Christmas Eve, with the names, and colors of the riders. Pive per cent will be deducted from the amount of the prize from the winning horse. EIRST DAT, Monday, 28th December. Ist race. Maiden Plate of 10 sovereigns, added to a Sweepstakes of 2 sovereigns each, for all horses that have never started for an advertised race, — one mile Weight for age. 2nd race. Packers' Purse of 10 sovs. added to sweepstakes of 2 sovs each, for all horses regularly employed in packing on the Nelson South West Goldfields for three months previous to the races. Heats, one mile: catch weights. Post entry.
