THE CHRISTMAS SPORTS.

{To the Editor of the Westport Times and Charleston Argus.) Sir, —I feel that I, as a member of the Sports Committee, must make the public and those that have subscribed to the fund, aware of the following facts: — The Committee met and appointed sub-committees for the purposes of forming a programme and the disposing of the funds. The sub-com-mittees brought up the results of their labors at a subsequent meeting on Tuesday night last, which were accepted by the General Committee (with a few slight alterations), and adopted for publication. At another meeting, held on "Wednesday evening, these were upset through the influence of Mr O'Conor, and another programme accepted, (a very injudicious one, I think), some of the members actually voting dead against their openly expressed opinion on the subject, at the meeting on Tuesday. I cannot think that the Comraittae had right or power to rescind what was already confirmed, at the suggestion of a member who kept himself aloof at the previous meetings. In consequence of this I shall withdraw my subscription, and also decline to act any more on the Committee. —I am, yours truly, I. Freeth, Westport, Nov. 26.
