WESTPORT.

HIGH WATER. This Day ... 5.18 a.m., 5.33 p.m. DEPARTURES. Kennedy, s.s., Whitwell, for Nelson. The s.s. Kennedy sailed yesterday afternoon for Nelson, via Wanganui Inlet. She is to call at the latter place for the purpose of shipping such material as may have been saved from the wreck of the steamer Nelson. The steamer John f enn has not yet been telegraphed as having left Ilokitika. The probability is that she is still bai'.-bound. Neither has any telegram been received as to the Charles Edward's departure from Nelson, but Nelson telegrams enjoy the distinction of being perfectly unreliable. The steamers usually arrive before them. The s.s. Wanganui received some slight injury from a snag whi.e lying in this river during her last visit, and it will be necessary for her to undergo examination n Wellington previous to her return to this port, which may be looked for in a fortnight. The schooner Crest of tho Wave is reported by telegraph to have sailed on Sunday, from Dnnedin for Westport. Tha s.s. Beautiful Star may be expected from Wellington this week, as a private telegram has been received in town stating that she would visit Westport on this trip.
