The steamer Wanganui, from this port, is | announced as haying arrived at Wellington, via Wanganui, on Thursday. The Steamer Beautiful Star has been telegraphed as having left Dunedin on Thursday, " for the North." It is not stated whether her destination is Westport. Wo understand that the report which has appeared in some of the papers v/ith regard to the loss of tho schooner Crest of the Wave has arisen from a mistake. The wreck referred to is that of the Crest, recently lost at Akaroa. The Crest of the Wave is understood to be safe.
