Tho Charles Edward arrived in the river on Tuesday night from Taranaki and Nelson, with a general cargo and a few passengers from Auckland. The John Penn, s.s., came into the river yesterday morning, from Greymouth and Hokitika. She sailed at midnight, for Manukau via Nelson. The Waipara, s.s., sailed for Charleston, Greymouth, and Hokitika, yesterday morning, and took in a lot of cargo at Stanley Wharf for the former.
