The p.s., Lioness towed the brigantine, Mary, out yesterday evening, and left Hokitika at 9 a.m., where she took out the schooner, Waterman, thus leafing Hokitika one tide and arriving at Westport by the nest, and performing tlwsamo duties at each place. The Wallabi left Wanganui on Sunday evening, and has brought a cargo of fat cattle and sheep in fine order for Westport, besides some produce. The s.s., John Penn left Wanganui on Sunday evening, at the same ?time as the Wallabi, but. proceeded to Nelson, and may be expected here to-day. The schooner, Ceres, still remains on the North Spit. A survey was held on her yesterday, by Captain Gill, and the chief officer of the Mary, who holds a master's certificate. There is every chance of her floating by tomorrow morning's tide.
