The adjourned enquiry on the loss of the clitter, Sa'elite, concluded yesterday before "Wi liam Sydney Mun'ay,Esq, The evidence • adduced was similar to what we have already published, and the following is the chief officer of Customs' judgment:—" That having examined the master and two seamen, forming the crew of the cutter, Satellite. I r.m of ■opinion that the loss of the said vessel is attributable rolely to the violence of the wind :and heavy sea, accompanied by a dark night, which prevented those on board from -ascertaining the true position of the vessel that no want of care is chargeable against the master, and he is free from all blame, and the vessel wasran ashore to save the lives of ithj ■crew. • Signed—William Sydney Mttnday, Principal Officer of Customs, Westport. The p.s., Challenge, arrived in port yesterday morning, and towed in the brigantine, Mary, at high title. Left Nelson on Sunday at 11.30 a.m., and proceeded •down Blind .Bay against a strong head wind, and arrived at West Wanganui at 11 a.m. on Monday.
