HOKITIKA.
Telegraphic communication was open on Saturday from Charleston', southwards, and the following telegram was published by the Herald in an extra on Saturday evening. Hokitika, October 17. Hokitika was again fearfully flooded on Thursday night. A terrific gale was blowing at the time, and the lighter Isabella was driven ashore three miles north of the town on Friday morning. Fortunately ours is not a rock-bound coast, and consequently crew and cargo were saved. During the same gale, the cutter Elizabeth, from Charleston, was driven to the south and wrecked off the Totara, fortunately without auy sacrifice of human life. The vessels lying in the roadstead are still secure, and the steamer Alhambra, which showed up this mo ruing, reported having sighted the Cora, Bravo, and Ocean Wave.
