INTENTIONS OF THE MINISTRY BY ELECTRIG TELEGRAPH. (from otjr own correspondent.) Wellington, 7th October, 1 p.m. A supplemeotaryfinancial statement was presented in the House last night. There not being time this session to carry out the financial scheme, it is proposed to divide theyearintotwoperiods ; under the first period the old system to be continued; under the second period the new system to be adopted. Treasury bills amounting to £64,000, to be paid off with £46,000 cash in hand, and the balance out of extraordinary revenue. The Provinces of Taranaki, Marlborough, and Southland, to receive temporary advances against Land fund. Telegraph expenditure, to be chargeable equally against Provinces and General Government.
