Correspondence.

{To the Editor of the Westport Times and Charleston Argus) Sir, —Will you permit me to correct an error made in your mining news of Friday the 18th, headed G-iles' Terrace, from " Our own correspondent." Tour correspondent speaks of an order i sued by the Warden, restraining Perry and Party from working the ground in dispute, between Luke and party and us. He says that we suffer the inconvenience by the injunction laid on by the Warden, and that we can well keep our boxes going. I beg to contradict him, the injunction is putting us to a great amount of inconvenience, causing us to work our ground in a very unprofitable manner. Where eight of us could work before, only four can work now. There have been assessors appointed to take into consideration the amount of inconvenience that we would be put to by being restrained from working the ground in dispute. The Warden heard their report, and decided that Luke and party lodge £IOO in Court as an indemnification to us, against the inconvenience that we are put to, but I say, £SOO would not do it; and yet your correspondent has the bold presumption to assert that, we are not put to any inconvenience whatever. John Malone, Of Nicholls, Perry, and party, Griles' Terrace.
