(FROM A CORRESPONDENT.) 16th September.. The Municipal Council assembled at 10 o'clock this morning in the Religious Institute, Gresson street, when various matters of business pertaining to the Council were discussed. Edward Masters Esq., was elected to fill the office of Mayor. The committee of the Public Works is com-; posed of:—His Worship the Mayor ; Councillors Kilgour, Rae, Wicks, Coates. Finance Committee : —His Worship the Mayor ; Councillors Kilgour, Parkinson, Rae, Wicks. Our Bar is in excellent working order. The large schooner Clarendon ftoai Melbourne crossed this morning.
