Westfort Times Office] Monday voning. The amount of duty collected at the Custom House this day, was £126 8s lOd. The rcrenue received for the week ending Saturday the 12th inst. was £l3lß 12s 9d, out of which, £499 14s was duty on 3997* ozs 11 dwts 9 grs gold exported, namely 2505 ozs 16dwt 1 gr by Bank of New South Wales, and 1491 ozs 15 dwts 8 grs by Bank of New Zealand.
Trade during the past week has not improved. Flour i s unaltered in price since last week ; provincial is looked for at £23, but holders want 10s more. Oats have declined since last week and are not in demand. Potatoes have a downward tendency. Geneva is still scarce in the market. Brandy is offered at a reduction on former quotationsWines and spirits are steady. Chaff is asked &r at previous rates. Fresh butter is sold by retailers at 2s per lb. Salt Is Gd, the stock held is limited. Eggs 2s Gd per doz. Sugar, 6d and Sd per lb. During the past week we have to hand 59 head of cattle, 400 sheep and twenty pigs. Meat continues unaltered. The nu nbor of live stock on hand is limited, but we may expect shipments in a day or two per Wallabi, and John Penn. In most cases the quantities of general produce held by the mercbants is light, as they just, at present prefer not holding large stocks, although the requirements for the goldfields will probably increase, as fine weather has now set in. The Customs' revenue for the past fortnight has been in excess of two or three of the neighboring ports, and speaks well for "VVestport. The shipment of gold has been 7742.
