HOSPITAL MEETING.
The usual weekly meeting of the Hospital committee took place last evening; present, Dr Giles, chairman, Messrs Baillie, Powell, Harris, Field, Duly, and Mnuro, secretary, Mr Harris reported that Speuce Bros, had handed him a cheque for £8 2s 6d for maintenance of J. Lloyd, seaman, while in the hospital, aud that the collecting committee had handed him £l2 10s. The Dr's report was read, stating there were nine in the hospital, four admitted during the week, and one discharged. Mr Harris produced a map of the site for the new building, also a plan prepared by Mr Lowe, in which there would be fourteen beds ; the cost to be £430. Mr Munro said that Mr Lowe in furnishing the plans had done everything that was necessary, and all the committee had to do was to accept them. Mr Dal v thought the accommodation small, on the proposed plans. Mr Powell said that the average number in the hospital was six, and tnac tuey wouiu oe sumcienc. Mr Munro moved and Mr Powell seconded that the plans be accepted. Carried. Mr Harris moved anc! Mrßaillie seconded, that the secretary be authorised to call for tenders for building the hospital, to close at 4 o'clock on Wednesday next. The Committee then adjourned.
