ARRIVAL ENGLISH MAIL VIA. SUEZ. [Bx Electric Telegraph.] [By the Nelson, we are placed in possession of the ' G-rey River Argus of Saturday, from which we extract the subjoined telegram.] Bluff, Thursday. The Panama, New Zealand, and Australian Royal Mail Company's Steamship Otago, from Melbourne, arrived this morning with the English Mail via Suez. The A.S.N. Co.'s steamer Alexandra, Captain Brown, arrived at Q-len-elg on Monday night, 3rd A.ug., after a good trip of ninety-three hours and a half. The Alexandra and Avoca encountered severe gales on the upward passage. The Avoca lost two boats and twenty-six sheep. The mail steamship Creel ong, Captain Skottowe, reached the Sound at half-past five on the 13th of July. She left Gralle at seven p.m. on 15th of June —Captain Stackhouse in charge of the mails ; Mr Leversage, purser. Among the passengers from Sydney is Major Blackball, the new Governor of Queensland. Severe gales have swept the coast of Western Australia. The schooner Emily has been w r recked, and eight lives lost. A despatch from Downing street proposes to increase the salary of the Governor of "Western Australia to £2500.
