We tvrc informed by the " Age"' that, after undergoing a thorough overhaul, &o.j the steamer Southland made a trial trip down Port Phillip Bay on the 14th ult. A numerous company assembled on board upon invitation, and a most agreeable day was spent. The Southland has taken up the Buy trade, and seems to be doing well. On one occasion she towed up a string of four vessels, viz., the barque Lady Emma, the brig Derwent, and the schooners Yarra and Lismoro. CHAKLESTON. Alt RIVALS. Nil. DEPARTURES.
