SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.
PORT OF WESTPORT. HIGH WATER. This Day ... 8.10 a.ni., 8.39 p.m. ARRIVALS. Nil. DEPARTURES. Nil. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Beautiful Star, from Dunedin. Waipara, from Wellington. Nelson, from Nelson. Murray, from Nelson. Wallabi, from Wanganui. VESSELS IN PORT. Ketches—Tintorprise (repairing) Young America, Mary, Constant. Cutter—Dart. Steamers —Lioness, John Penn. The Nigh ingale's luck is dead out evidently. Yesterday she hud to up anchor and off again, a stiff breeze from the westward setting in early in the day. If all things are favorable and the weather takes a turn for the better, she should be coming up to the wharf about Monday or Tuesday next, and we shall be sincerely gl:id to see her safely moored and all her troubles of this trip brought to an end. Owing to the very unfavorable state of the weather, which no doubt will have the effect of more or less closing the Hokitika bar, the John Penn did not sail as intended yesterday evening for that port, preferring a snug berth alongside the wharf here to the risk of beating about outside for some time there.
